Stewardship 2018

 Our Response to Receiving

Greetings in the Name of Christ Jesus!

Dear fellow parishioners and friends of St. Thomas, we are in the midst of our Annual Stewardship Campaign. Consider the many blessings you have received this past year. This year’s stewardship theme is: Our Response to Receiving, our acknowledgement of the many blessings God has bestowed upon us.

Stewardship is a Spiritual Process. It is a process of growing closer to God as we gradually let-go of what is we consider ours and instead give back to God, to whom it all really belongs. Stewardship means putting our faith in God to keep and sustain us as we learn to trust in God’s providence rather than just our own.

Each of us has our own relationship with God. Our involvement at church allows us to grow that relationship. We know that “faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead,James 2:17. By focusing on what we are accomplishing with our stewardship through the various ministries at St. Thomas, we come to share the good news of Jesus through our actions; through our Christian Preschool and our direct community support of those in need.

Stewardship is our Response to Receiving; it means sharing God’s love and it reflects our trust in and gratitude toward God. The Apostle James reminds us that “Every generous act of giving, …. is from above, coming down from the Father…” James 1.17

We ask that you prayerfully open your hearts to God as you consider your pledge for the upcoming year. Make a commitment by completing your pledge card and participating in Commitment Sunday, November 19th when we gather as a Parish Family to place our pledge cards in the Offering Plate to God. Support your parish ministries with your time, talent, and gifts; and take that leap of faith!

Faithfully Yours in Christ Jesus,

The St. Thomas Stewardship Committee
