Operation Christmas Child

Each year St. Thomas participates in "Operation Christmas Child," one of the Samaritan's Purse Ministries.  In the late Fall, members of St. Thomas compile shoe boxes, Christmas wrapping paper, and a variety of gifts for boys and girls of all ages.  Parishioners are encouraged to "build a box" at home as well as donate supplies for the Parish Shoebox Sunday.  On Shoebox Sunday, wrapped boxes are stacked and tables laid out with age appropriate gifts for boys and girls on different tables.  The parish is encouraged to come together to build boxes together for further shipment to children around the world who might not receive any gift at all.

St.Thomas usually compiles between 60 to 80 Christmas Shoeboxes each year.  Each box may contain a variety of gift items such as: toys, games, pads of paper, writing/coloring materials, soaps, toothbrushes, washcloths, socks, candy, and small books.

All parishioners are invited to participate--Build a Box at Home and help us to build several more on Shoebox Sunday.
